Hikari means “light” in Japanese, and at Hikari Sushi & Sake Bar, the staff works to always keep things, well, light! The atmosphere is stylish but not stuffy, with a chic main dining room on the lower level and a spacious upstairs sushi bar. The menu highlights a range of Asian cuisines, with everything from Korean bulgogi and spicy Thai noodles to delicately flavored Vietnamese pho. You’ll also find a few pan-Asian fusion dishes, like the chef’s hibachi-grilled scallop and spring special.
However, the main draw at Hikari is the sushi. You’ll find dragon rolls, maki, and maguro, as well as house special combos, like the “over the rainbow,” which allows you to try several different sushi dishes together. The bar stocks a large selection of imported Japanese beer, sake, and ume wines, as well as some signature cocktails (the sake sangria is particularly popular).
Conveniently located near Flats 130, Hikari Sushi & Saki Bar is open seven days a week.
