Don’t Miss the U.S. Air Force’s Summer Concert Series on the Steps of the U.S. Capitol

Calling all music lovers: summer in DC offers plenty of free, open-air concerts to choose from, but few are more beloved than the U.S. Air Force's Summer Concert Series at the U.S. Capitol. Head over to the west steps of the Capitol any Tuesday, Friday and Saturday evenings between now and September and you'll be able to relax to the glorious sound of trumpets, trombones, and tubas playing a combination of patriotic and popular favorites.

Tap your toes to marching favorites like John Philip Sousa's "Stars and Stripes Forever," as well as a capella renditions of various patriotic tunes. Visitors are free to lay out blankets or set up your own lawn chairs on the stone terrace by the fountain, so be sure to bring your own cozy seating. For a real treat, consider packing a few cold drinks or snacks to enjoy while you listen to the music!
