From a science fair to a diplomatic pavilion, the Latino Festival offers an eclectic mix of attractions. They all have one thing in common: they point to the heritage of DC's Spanish-speaking residents. Spain, Central and South America, Mexico, and the Caribbean are all represented at this two-day festival, also known as Fiesta DC, which dates back to the '70s.
On September 16th and 17th, downtown DC transforms into a fresh-air venue for all kinds of cultural fun. Watch while merengue, salsa, bachata, and mariachi dancers sashay down Constitution Avenue during the parade. Savor flavors from all over the world, courtesy of international food vendors. Or meet and greet with the people who represent Spanish-speaking countries at DC embassies in the diplomatic pavilion. There's enough to do to keep you entertained all weekend long at the Latino Festival.
