Sci-Fi, Humor and Astronomy Come Together in “Annie Jump and the Library of Heaven”

Science, aliens, magic and teenage girls all come together in Annie Jump and the Library of Heaven, which takes the stage at Rorscach Theatre from April 19 through May 19. This stage production tells the story of 13-year-old Annie, a science whiz from a small town in Kansas who gets teased regularly at school. On a summer night, a meteor falls to earth and Annie encounters Althea, an intergalactic supercomputer who shapeshifts into the form of a mean girl. Althea’s mission is to help Annie bring humans into space, but it will come at a cost.

Written by playwright Reina Hardy, Annie Jump and the Library of Heaven is about finding your place in the universe, and it’s also a lesson in how not to make friends. While Annie discovers new things about herself, Althea does, too; she learns that there is more to humans than their ambition, they make choices based on feelings and relationships.
