There’s something magical about our nation’s capital during the holiday season—namely, that the National Gallery of Art can transform part of its outdoor sculpture garden into an ice rink.
The impressive fountain at the sculpture garden’s center will be converted into an ice rink on Nov. 15, welcoming skaters of all ages to usher in the holiday season a little on the early side. BYO skates and leave your personal items safely in a conveniently provided locker, or rent skates on-site for $4. Take a break and warm up over tea or coffee at Pavilion Cafe before hitting the ice again. After getting your walking shoes back on, take a winter stroll around the garden and admire the works on display.
If you’re looking for some outdoor holiday fun in DC, the National Gallery of Art is the place to be! The rink remains open through March.
