Bub and Pop’s is just a few years old, but it has an old-school charm and commitment to quality that have quickly made it a downtown favorite. Chef Jonathan Taub, who has worked in some of the country’s finest restaurants, and his mother, Arlene Wagner, made their way down from Philly (a serious sandwich town if there ever was any) to provide gourmet-style hoagie sandwiches with family-style warmth and atmosphere.
That combination is embodied in Bub and Pop’s “Philly Special,” a version of the classic roast pork sandwich with sharp provolone and broccoli rabe. Or try the chef’s favorite bolognese parmesan sub, with a meatball and sausage ragout, carmelized onion, and pecorino romano. Soups, salads, and cookies are all available to complement the sandwiches.
Hours may be reduced during the month of May–check the website or call if you’re ordering for pickup or delivery after 4 p.m. Beer, wine, and cocktails are also available with all food orders.
