If you want to be a part of a time-honored DC tradition this Thanksgiving, then you should check out SOME’s 20th Annual Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger 5K. The 5K is being held both in-person and virtually this year due to coronavirus concerns. The in-person race and festival will take place on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 25 as a family-friendly festival and either a timed or untimed 5K or a Little Turkey one-miler.
Those that prefer to race virtually can run a timed or untimed 5K from their local park or neighborhood during the month of November while raising money and spreading awareness for SOME’s mission. Any money raised from the Trot for Hunger race will help benefit thousands of people living in Washington, DC, including the elderly and families, by offering needed employment training, housing, food, access to healthcare, and long-term comprehensive addiction treatment programs. The race is one of the largest and only Washington, DC-based Turkey Trots in the entire region, and it’s considered a safe and impactful annual Thanksgiving tradition.
